Joyce Meyers: Get Out Of The Boat

It was Satan who tempted Jesus telling him to jump off a high mountain. Jump to see if God will send an angel to catch you. Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test’.” (Matthew 4:5-7)

Dive in, we’ll catch you. I think not, I’ve read what was written. Let’s us not be deceived from the temptations we face.

Joyce Meyers: Get Out Of The Boat

Joyce Meyers teaches to be the only one to get out of the boat like Peter stating, “You will loose your joy if you are not willing to get out of the boat“.

Actually, Jesus sent Peter and the disiples on the boat.  He never called Peter to walk on water.  Peter got out of the boat in fear and dis-belief.  Then Peter began to sink in his fear and disbelief and called to Jesus, while finally believing that he was the Savior.

If you’re not a fish of the sea, or a scuba diver geared up, stay on the boat you boarded.  How is safety wrong?  Beware of men. Joyce Meyers hasn’t walked the waters and will probably not get off the boat until its anchored at the docks.

  1. I think you are leaving the main gist of the verse out. Peter was getting out of the boat to test if the vision they were seeing was in fact Jesus and not a spirit.
He asked Jesus to let him come to him to assure himself and the others in the boat that it was truly Jesus himself, knowing that Jesus could and Would sustain him!
it was when Peter became conscious of his surroundings, took his mind off of Jesus and began to doubt that he began to sink
noit that he was afraid and wish to leave the boat

  2. Yes indeed. Its provided on this post as a link.

This is what we’re referring to…

26And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

Just a well cooked meal of fear and disbelief :-)
