I just heard Beyonce’s Halo single and it’s so beautiful.

The song is soothe and graceful enough to caress the spirit at another level. It takes me to a place that I love to journey. It was good to visit that place again.

As a strong woman, its so hard for me to appreciate the “If I Were A Boy” cut and actually sing along. Beyonce offers it up with a good heart as encouragement for women going through tough times and tries to live out other women’s vents.  But at the same time I fear the confusion it may cause with young women knowing who they are in respect to their sexualities.  I hope being a “single lady” sinks in more than “if I were a boy”.  Beyonce is far from and out of touch with hard times.  I pray that people will see that and look to the Halos instead.
